Santa Claus Hats

The perfect santa claus hats recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 200 g Marzipan raw mass
  • 140 g Powdered sugar
  • 1 Pck. Orange flavor
  • 1 tbsp Rum
  • Red food coloring

  1. Roughly knead the marzipan, 70 g powdered sugar, orange aroma, rum and color with the dough hook of the hand mixer. Then put everything on a work mat and gradually knead in the rest of the powdered sugar with your hands. The mass must no longer stick to the base. If the above-mentioned amount of powdered sugar is not enough, knead in a little more in small amounts. Every now and then check the consistency.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Heat the oven to 35 – 50 °. Shape the marzipan dough into small cones and place them on the tray with a gap. They don’t have to be exact and straight. Then, using a piping bag with a small perforated nozzle, spray an edge around the lower end and put a dab on the tip.
  3. Put the tray in the oven for 30 minutes to dry. If the cones lose their shape as a result, simply reshape them a little after removing them and let them cool down. They then become firmer again, but remain soft, but do not stick. Consistency is similar to that of marzipan potatoes. Leave it to dry on a mat and unpacked at room temperature until you are ready to use it.
