Sashimi Sauce Soy Ginger

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce, mildly spicy
  • 2 tbsp mirin
  • 2 tbsp, heaped ginger, freshly grated or squeezed
  • 1 tsp, heaped Sambal Oelek, depending on the desired spiciness

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 5 minutes

Peel, grate, or press fresh ginger. Combine the soy sauce, mirin, and ginger in a bowl and mix. Add sambal oelek for spiciness, if desired. Serve in a bowl with raw fish sashimi; it goes particularly well with salmon, for example. Either pour the sauce directly onto the raw fish or spoon it onto your own plate.
