Sauce for pulled pork burgers

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 50 g diced ham
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 200 ml apple juice
  • 150 g ketchup
  • 4 tbsp balsamic vinegar, dark
  • 3 tsp soy sauce
  • ½ tsp chili flakes
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 50 g honey
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tbsp brown cane sugar
  • salt and pepper
  • Olive oil for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Brown the ham cubes and finely chopped onion in olive oil in a pan. Combine the apple juice with the remaining ingredients. Deglaze the ham and onion mixture with the apple juice mixture. Bring everything to a boil until it reaches a ketchup-like consistency. Season the sauce with salt, pepper, and sugar.
