Sauce for Vareniki

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup of cream
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • possibly sauce thickener, lighter
  • Salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 5 minutes

Tastes better than sour cream alone. It goes well with both salty and sweet vareniki. Or simply with noodles.

Melt the butter in a saucepan. Then add the cream and sour cream and bring to a boil. Season with salt and thicken slightly with the sauce thickener if desired. Tastes great with savory or sweet vareniki. Or simply with pasta. Add a little less salt for sweet vareniki.
