Sauerkraut with peppers

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 1 can sauerkraut
  • 3 bell peppers, colored, chopped
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 5 juniper berries
  • 250 ml broth
  • 3 large onions, diced

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Combine the sauerkraut and all other ingredients in a pot, except for the bell peppers, which are added 20 minutes before the end of the cooking time, otherwise they will become too soft. The total cooking time depends on how soft you want the sauerkraut. Serve with fried black pudding or smoked pork and mashed potatoes.
