Ingredients for 2 servings:
- 1 onion(s)
- 1 clove(s) garlic
- 2 tsp dried Italian herbs
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 can of chopped tomatoes (400 g)
- 500 ml meat broth
- some salt
- some pepper
- 125g mozzarella
- 200 g pasta
- 2 sausages, raw, coarse
- 20 g cheese, Italian hard cheese
- 2 stalks of basil
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes
Peel and finely dice the onion and garlic. Fry the onions in hot olive oil over medium heat until translucent. Add the garlic and fry briefly. Add the Italian herbs, chopped tomatoes, and meat broth, bring to a boil, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, dice the mozzarella. Place the pasta in an ovenproof dish. Press the meat from the raw, coarse sausages into dumplings and place them on top of the pasta. Pour the hot tomato sauce over the pasta. Sprinkle the mozzarella and freshly grated Italian hard cheese on top. Bake in a hot oven at 180°C on the oven rack in the middle of the oven for 30 minutes (fan oven not recommended). Let the casserole rest for 10 minutes before serving and garnish with basil, if desired.
