Sausages in a blanket

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 8 sausages (Vienna sausages, or others)
  • 4 sheets of puff pastry, frozen
  • Cheese (Gouda), grated
  • cream cheese
  • Tomato paste
  • pepper
  • Herbs of Provence

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Thaw the puff pastry for about 10 minutes. Divide each sheet into two equal squares and spread about 25g of cheese along the center. Mix the cheeses or make two different versions. Sprinkle with a little tomato paste, pepper, and herbs to taste. Place the sausage on top and fold the puff pastry corners over them, sealing them (you can do this with egg, but it works without). Poke small holes in the sausages to prevent them from bursting. Bake in a preheated oven at 180-200°C for about 12 minutes. Serve with salad and olive bread or baguette.
