Sausages in puff pastry

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 6 Bockwurst
  • 1 roll of topping dough
  • 6 slices of bacon
  • some cheese, in thin slices
  • some sesame
  • 5 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika powder
  • ½ tsp oregano

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

If using jarred sausages, let them drain a little first. Meanwhile, make the sauce by mixing the ingredients together. Cut approximately 4 cm wide strips from the puff pastry, spread a thin layer of sauce on each strip, and place a slice of bacon and cheese on top. Cut the cheese so that it is about as wide as the puff pastry and bacon. Wrap the puff pastry around the sausages and press down lightly. Brush the outside of the rolls with a little more sauce and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C for approximately 15 minutes, until the puff pastry is golden brown. Serve the finished sausages with the remaining sauce.
