Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 roll of (to taste) dough from the refrigerated section
- 3 slices of cooked ham
- 150 g cream cheese
- 1 onion(s), red
- 100 g mountain cheese, grated
- 1 garlic clove(s)
- 2 sprigs of oregano, fresh
- salt and pepper
- Paprika powder, hot
- 2 egg yolks, for brushing
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour
to enjoy warm and hot
For the filling, finely dice the red onion and cooked ham. Finely chop the oregano and garlic. Grate the mountain cheese. Mix everything together with the cream cheese and the spices. Roll out the dough and cut into squares about 10 x 10 cm (or smaller). Line out 1 square and brush the edges with egg yolk. Using a teaspoon or a small fork, place some of the filling in the center of the dough and cover with another square of dough. Brush the edges again with egg yolk and press together with a fork. Finally, sprinkle some cheese over the dumplings. Bake at 180°C (convection oven) for 25-30 minutes. The filling is variable; it’s also delicious with tuna and/or sun-dried tomatoes. I’ve also tried it with smoked salmon, which is great. The baking time remains the same.
