Savoy cabbage pot

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 small savoy cabbage
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 500 ml vegetable stock
  • 8 medium-sized potatoes, waxy
  • 4 sausages (Mettenden)
  • 2 slice(s) bacon (smoked belly bacon)
  • pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Cut the savoy cabbage into bite-sized pieces and place in a large pot. Add 500ml lukewarm vegetable stock and pepper to taste. Bring to a boil over medium heat. In the meantime, peel and quarter the potatoes, halve the mettenden sausages, and cut the bacon into 4 equal pieces. As soon as the savoy cabbage starts to simmer, reduce the heat to low and place the potatoes on top. Then place the mettenden sausages and bacon on top of the potatoes. Cook over low heat for about 20 minutes, until the potatoes are tender (pierce with a fork to test). Stir gently with a wooden spoon if necessary to prevent the savoy cabbage from sticking to the bottom, but keep the ingredients layered in the order given.
