Ingredients for 12 servings:

  • 1 head of savoy cabbage (approx. 1.2 kg)
  • salt water
  • 100 ml vinegar (herb vinegar)
  • Sugar
  • Salt and pepper from the mill
  • 3 tbsp caraway seeds
  • 50 g horseradish, grated from the jar or tube
  • 150 ml oil

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

ideal for parties and with warm meatloaf

Trim the savoy cabbage, remove the stalks, and cut into eighths, then slice or grate crosswise into fine strips. Add the savoy cabbage strips to plenty of boiling salted water and cook, covered, for 5 minutes, then drain. Mix the herb vinegar with salt, pepper, sugar, caraway, and horseradish. Then, toss with the oil. Pour the dressing over the lukewarm cabbage. Mix well and let it marinate.
