Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 400 g frozen prawns
  • 1 small onion(s)
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 75 ml olive oil
  • some rosemary
  • some thyme
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 small baguette(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Rest time approx. 4 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 4 hours 20 minutes

ideal as an aperitif or as a starter

Remove the prawns from the freezer a few hours in advance and place them on a plate to thaw. Once thawed, remove them from the bag and strain them through a sieve to remove any remaining liquid. Wash the prawns and set them aside. Chop the onion and garlic into small pieces. Heat the oil in a pan, add the chopped garlic and onion, and fry briefly. Don’t overcook it, or the garlic will become bitter. Add the thawed and washed prawns and fry for about 10-15 minutes, until the prawns have turned a light orange and have shrunk slightly. Add the rosemary and thyme and fry briefly. Remove the pan from the heat and season with salt and pepper. Empty the prawns and any remaining oil into a bowl. Slice the baguette and serve with the warm prawns. Variation: The prawns can also be draped directly on the baguette slices, adding the remaining garlic oil to the slices and distributing the prawns on the bread.
