Ingredients for 32 servings:

  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup(s) oil
  • 1 cup(s) mineral water
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 4 eggs

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Cake base for all occasions

Mix all ingredients, pour into a 26cm springform pan lined with baking paper, and bake at 180°C (fan oven) for about 20-30 minutes. It’s best to test for doneness. Once cooled, cut in half horizontally. Ready for the topping. You can also freeze a base for later. I also use the same mix for a quick sponge cake (it turns out nice and light and moist). Add seasonal fruit to taste, or mix half the batter with cocoa powder. Very tasty and versatile. You’ll always come up with new ideas.
