- 1 ½ liters vegetable broth

Whisk together the egg, semolina, salt, and nutmeg with the creamed butter until smooth, then let the dough rest for about 1 hour. Scoop out the dough with a teaspoon, place the lumps on a wet board, and form them into balls with your wet hands. Add the dumplings to the boiling broth and immediately cover the pot with a lid. Simmer gently for 10 minutes. Garnish the soup with finely chopped chives.
