Serbian bean soup

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 100 g diced dried meat or bacon
  • 2 onions
  • 1 bunch of soup vegetables
  • 2 tsp paprika powder
  • 1 small can of white beans (drained)
  • 1 tsp marjoram
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 pack of parsley, frozen
  • 250 g minced meat
  • 1 tsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp celery salt
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 small can of tomatoes (peeled tomatoes)
  • 1 liter broth, clear

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Fry the dried meat with the finely diced onions in a little olive oil over medium heat until the onions are translucent. Then add the meat and fry until cooked through. Gradually add the other ingredients (the order doesn’t really matter), then top up with the broth and season to taste. It’s best to make the soup the day before serving and let it simmer and infuse thoroughly. (The soup tastes best on the third day!) Serve with fresh baguette or ciabatta bread. Enjoy!
