Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 500 g beef for goulash
- 4 tbsp oil
- 3 medium-sized onions, diced
- ½ liter of water
- 3 tomatoes
- 3 bell peppers, red, yellow and green
- Salt and pepper from the mill
- Food seasoning, (Vegeta)
- Paprika powder, sweet
- cornstarch
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
A recipe from my aunt from Serbia
Cut the meat into cubes. Heat the oil and sear the meat on all sides. Add the onions and let them brown. Pour in the boiling water, season with salt, Vegeta, pepper, and paprika, and braise the goulash in a covered pan until soft. Meanwhile, blanch the tomatoes, peel them, and cut them into thick slices. Halve the peppers, scoop out the insides and seeds, then wash and slice the peppers. When the meat is almost cooked, add the vegetables and finish braising. Season to taste and thicken with a little cornstarch if desired. Serve with rice or fresh white bread!
