Serbian pepper stew

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 bell pepper(s), red
  • 1 bell pepper(s), green
  • 4 onions (280 g)
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 250 g lean lamb
  • 4 tsp margarine
  • Paprika powder
  • 500 ml vegetable stock
  • 100 g rice (long grain wild rice mix)
  • e.g. salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Wash and trim the bell peppers and cut into strips. Peel and slice the onions. Peel and crush the garlic clove. Finely dice the lamb. Heat the margarine and sauté the onions. Add the garlic, lamb, and bell pepper strips and braise briefly. Season with paprika and pour in the vegetable stock. Bring to a boil and sprinkle in the long-grain wild rice mixture. Bring everything to a boil, then simmer over low heat for about 20-25 minutes. Season with salt and pepper, if desired.
