Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 150 g honey
- 100 g sesame seeds, unhulled
- 50 g hemp seeds, peeled
- 50 g chocolate, as desired
- Margarine or butter or clarified butter for the baking tray
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes
healthy snack, for 10 pieces
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease it. Pour the honey into a pan and bring to a boil. Boil for a few minutes, stirring constantly, then add the sesame and hemp seeds. Mix everything evenly and reduce the heat slightly. After another two to three minutes, remove from the heat. Pour the mixture onto the prepared parchment paper and spread or roll it out evenly as thinly as possible. A greased plastic rolling pin or a glass is best for this. Then carefully cut the mixture into rectangles and let it harden on the baking sheet for at least an hour. The bars can be finished with chocolate if desired. To do this, melt the chocolate over a double boiler and spoon it onto the bars in thin strips. When storing, we recommend placing wax paper or something similar between the bars to prevent them from sticking together. While this snack isn’t low in calories, it’s relatively healthy for a snack (especially if you skip the chocolate). Sesame contains many unsaturated fatty acids as well as important minerals and vitamins, such as calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc, vitamin E, folic acid, and selenium. Hemp seeds also contain many unsaturated fatty acids, as well as plenty of protein and vitamins B and E.
