Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 3 large cucumbers (outdoor cucumbers)
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp vinegar essence
- 8 peppercorns
- 1 tbsp mustard seeds
- 1 bay leaf
- 3 large onions
- 1 bunch of dill
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest period approx. 3 days; Total time approx. 3 days 20 minutes
to be enjoyed in three days (a kind of mustard pickle)
Peel the cucumbers, halve them lengthwise, and scoop out the seeds with a spoon. Halve the halves lengthwise again and cut into approximately 6-8 cm long pieces. Place the cucumber pieces in a large screw-top jar, peel the onions, chop them roughly, and add them to the cucumbers. Add the remaining spices and dill and seal the jar tightly. Shake the jar vigorously. Shake again after a few hours, and shake again whenever you like. Repeat this process as often as possible; the cucumbers will be ready to eat after three days.
