Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g wheat flour
  • 1 cube of yeast
  • 50 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 250 ml milk
  • 100 g butter, soft
  • Flour for the work surface
  • 200 g butter
  • 125 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 150 g almond flakes

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 40 minutes

Ingredients for a standard baking tray (40 x 30 cm)

For the dough, heat the milk to lukewarm. Dissolve the yeast in the lukewarm milk. Stir in the flour. Mix with the sugar, butter, vanilla sugar, salt, and egg using the dough hook of a hand mixer and then by hand until you have a smooth dough. Let the dough rise for one hour. Knead the dough briefly again on a lightly floured surface, shape it into a log, and roll it out on a baking tray. Spread the butter in small pieces evenly over the dough. Mix the sugar and vanilla sugar, sprinkle over the dough, and scatter the almonds evenly over the dough. Let the cake rest for 15 minutes. Place the tray in the oven and bake for 20 minutes at 200°C (top and bottom heat).
