Shish Kebab Skewers with Tomato and Pepper Sauce

Shish kebab skewers

  • 300 g Beef steak
  • 300 g Pork steak
  • 200 g Onion (small)
  • 60 g Bacon (mixed, sliced)
  • 1 Green paprika
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • Salt

Tomato and pepper sauce

  • 1 Vegetable onion
  • 1 Clove of garlic
  • 1 Chili
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • 1 Can Tomato (peeled, weight 240 g)
  • 1 bottle Tomato ketchup (150g)
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Curry (mild)
  • 1 tsp Sweet paprika powder
  • 1 tsp Dried oregano
  • Salt
  • Tabasco
  • Worcester sauce
  1. Cut the meat into cubes of the same size. Also dice all other ingredients for the skewer and place them alternately on the skewers.
  2. For the sauce, cut the garlic, chilli and onions into small pieces, sauté in a saucepan with oil and deglaze with the canned tomatoes and the ketchup.
  3. Season to taste with oregano, paprika powder and curry and then round off the taste with Worcester sauce, salt and sugar. Simmer over low heat for 30 minutes.
  4. Place the skewers in a roasting pan and pour the shashlik sauce over them. Cook in the preheated oven at 200 degrees, fan-assisted 180 degrees, gas mark 4 for about 1 hour.
