Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • 1 pinch of mustard
  • 1 dashes Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 dashes Tabasco
  • Paprika powder, hot
  • Pepper, white from the mill
  • Cayenne pepper
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 4 tbsp crème fraîche or sour cream
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp brandy or cognac, good
  • 1 tsp vinegar (wine vinegar)
  • 1 head of iceberg lettuce or lettuce
  • 1 bowl of crab (100 g)
  • e.g. pineapple, diced
  • possibly cherry(s) (cocktail cherries)

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

as a starter or small dinner

Wash the lettuce leaves whole, dry thoroughly, and place them in two dessert bowls. Arrange the crab on top. Whisk the sauce ingredients until the sauce reaches the consistency of whipped cream (if it’s too runny, add a little more sour cream). Then add the seasonings—last of all, the Tabasco; it’s easy to use too much. It’s best to taste it often! Pour the sauce over the crab and garnish with pineapple chunks. Perhaps a cocktail cherry on top. You can also add the crab to the sauce. To each their own! Arrange the whole thing festively and serve. Serve with toasted bread (sliced diagonally), fresh baguette, or ciabatta.
