Heat the fat in a pan and add the diced bacon. Fry over low heat until the bacon has turned yellow. Add the diced onions and stir to coat, stirring occasionally until light brown. Delicious with boiled potatoes or mashed potatoes. For a sweet and sour bacon sauce, add 2 tablespoons of flour and cook until light brown. Then add 1-2 cups of broth and season to taste with salt and pepper, a generous pinch of sugar, and carefully add about 1 tablespoon of vinegar, a little at a time.
