Simple Brown Gingerbread Cookies

- 250 g Dark beet syrup
- 50 g Butter
- 35 g Sugar
- 350 g Flour
- 0,5 Tl Ginger
- 2 tsp Cinammon
- 1 tsp Ground cloves
- 0,5 tsp Ground cardamom
- 1,5 Tl Baking soda
- 3 tbsp Milk

- Decoration as you like
- For the dough, heat the syrup with sugar and butter in a saucepan until the sugar has dissolved.
- Mix the flour with the ginger, cinnamon, cloves and cardamom, dissolve the baking soda in the milk and knead everything into a smooth dough.
- Place the dough in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
- Then roll out the dough on a lightly floured work surface 3-4 mm thick and cut out figures as desired.
- Cover a baking sheet with baking paper and place the figures on top. Brush with milk. Bake in a preheated oven at about 200 degrees for about 10 minutes.
- After baking, brush with water while it is still warm and allow to cool.
- When the gingerbread is cold, decorate as you wish.
