Simple Brown Gingerbread Cookies

The perfect simple brown gingerbread cookies recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 250 g Dark beet syrup
  • 50 g Butter
  • 35 g Sugar
  • 350 g Flour
  • 0,5 Tl Ginger
  • 2 tsp Cinammon
  • 1 tsp Ground cloves
  • 0,5 tsp Ground cardamom
  • 1,5 Tl Baking soda
  • 3 tbsp Milk
  • —————
  • Decoration as you like
  1. For the dough, heat the syrup with sugar and butter in a saucepan until the sugar has dissolved.
  2. Mix the flour with the ginger, cinnamon, cloves and cardamom, dissolve the baking soda in the milk and knead everything into a smooth dough.
  3. Place the dough in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
  4. Then roll out the dough on a lightly floured work surface 3-4 mm thick and cut out figures as desired.
  5. Cover a baking sheet with baking paper and place the figures on top. Brush with milk. Bake in a preheated oven at about 200 degrees for about 10 minutes.
  6. After baking, brush with water while it is still warm and allow to cool.
  7. When the gingerbread is cold, decorate as you wish.
