Ingredients for 3 servings:
- 170 g cheese of your choice, spicy, grated
- 2 eggs
- 2 tbsp dry white wine, alternatively 2 tbsp vegetable stock
- 1 garlic clove(s)
- 6 slices of farmhouse bread
- e.g. paprika powder
- e.g. garlic powder
- e.g. chili powder
- e.g. nutmeg
- n. B. Pfeffer

First, preheat the oven to 220°C (top/bottom heat: 200°C). Place the grated cheese in a bowl (I personally always mix in some Parmesan cheese as well). Add the eggs and white wine and mix well. Peel the garlic and press it into the cheese mixture. Season with garlic powder, paprika powder (hot or sweet), pepper, and nutmeg. Mix everything well again. Line an oven rack with baking paper and place the slices of bread on it. Spread the cheese mixture over the slices of bread and bake in the hot oven on the middle rack for about 7 minutes – depending on the desired degree of browning. Then sprinkle the finished bread slices with a little chili powder and serve. Serve with fresh salad and white wine.
