Simple spicy mapo tofu

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 bunch of spring onions
  • 500 g minced beef
  • 250g tofu
  • 125 g beans, black, from the can
  • 350 ml vegetable stock
  • some sake
  • 1 jar bell pepper(s), grilled, approx. 210 g
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Finely chop the spring onions and sauté them in a pan with a little oil. Cut the tofu into small cubes and add them to the pan with the ground beef. Fry until the beef is no longer pink. Deglaze everything with the vegetable stock and a splash of sake. Add the black beans, soy sauce, sugar, cayenne pepper, and chili powder and stir well. Dice the grilled bell peppers and add them. Let everything simmer for about 20 minutes. This dish goes perfectly with bread or rice.
