Sloe gin from Mutti

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 200 g sloes (blackthorn berries)
  • 200 g brown rock sugar
  • 1 vanilla pod(s) (Bourbon vanilla)
  • 700 ml grain beer

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Rest period approx. 45 days 12 hours 15 minutes; Total time approx. 45 days 12 hours 20 minutes

Combine all ingredients in a large bottle. Let the bottle stand for at least 3-4 months. The mixture can be left to stand longer, as this will intensify the aroma. Strain the liquid and filter the fruit and vanilla pod through a fine cheesecloth. Pour the liqueur into a decorative bottle and label it. Serving suggestion: Like any spirit, sloe gin tastes best chilled. Serve in a chilled liqueur glass.
