Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 600 g sloes
  • 700 ml red wine (Merlot)
  • 1 stalk(s) cinnamon
  • 3 cloves
  • 3 star anise
  • 1 lemon(s), the thinly peeled rind
  • 300 g honey
  • 700 ml vodka

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Wash the sloes thoroughly and drain well. Crush them lightly in a mortar and pestle. Some of the stones should also be crushed to give the drink a pleasant aroma. Pour the puree into a suitable pot. Add the red wine, spices, and lemon zest and let it steep in a cool place for 3 to 4 days. Filter everything, then bring the liquid to a brief boil. Cool to 40°C and then stir in the honey. Once completely cool, add the vodka. Bottle and seal tightly. Store in a cool, dark place.
