Croatian recipe

Sift the flour into a bowl and make a well in the center. Crumble in the yeast and dissolve it with the water, mixing in some of the flour from the edges. Add the sugar, salt, a little pepper, the egg, the lard, and the olive oil and mix all ingredients until a smooth dough forms. Form it into a ball, place it in the bowl, and let it rise, covered, until it has doubled in size. Knead the dough briefly and divide it into 3 equal portions. On a floured surface, shape the pieces into round discs with a diameter of 20 cm. Place the dough pieces on lightly greased baking sheets. Beat the egg and brush the surface with it. Press the walnuts evenly into the discs, leaving plenty of space between them. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Cover the discs with a cloth and let them rise for about 15 minutes. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for 10 to 15 minutes.
