Danish breads

First, wash the radishes, remove the green parts, and slice them thinly. Peel the onions and slice them into rings. Drain the gherkins and slice them as well. You can also serve them whole with the bread. I use sour cream as a base. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Spread the sour cream on the bread and top it as desired. I chose trout, onions, radishes, and cucumber, as well as shrimp. Simply arrange the ingredients on the bread slices as desired and enjoy. Tips: Smörrebröd comes from Denmark. They are imaginatively filled breads that can be topped with whatever you like. Another typical smörrebröd is the “Kartoffelmad.” It is topped with cooked potato slices, mayonnaise, roasted onion pieces, tomatoes, radishes, and cress. Let your imagination run wild. Have fun experimenting. I baked a dark whole-grain bread for my smörrebröd. You can also buy a bread of your choice.
