Ingredients for 12 servings:
- 1 head of white cabbage
- 1 large salami
- 1 large sausage (hunting sausage)
- 1 jar of pickles
- 1 jar bell pepper(s), grilled
- 2 tubes of tomato paste
- 2 jars of onion(s) (pearl onions)
- 2 large onions
- 1 handful of caraway seeds
- 1 tsp salt
- some paprika powder, hot
- some vegetable oil
- 3 liters of water
- some vegetable broth
Instructions
Working time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes
Finely chop the white cabbage and fry in batches in a large pot with the vegetable oil. Add salt and caraway seeds while frying. Roughly dice the salami and sausage, then add the cabbage after the last batch and fry. Drain and dice the cucumbers and grilled peppers (reserve the cucumber and pepper water). Add tomato paste and paprika and lightly fry. Add the cucumbers, pearl onions (with the water from the jar), and grilled peppers. Fill with water and simmer for about 1 hour. Season to taste with vegetable stock, cucumber and pepper water. Garnish each serving with a teaspoon of sour cream and serve with white bread.
