Som Tam Thai

The perfect som tam thai recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1 Pc. Papaya unripe
  • 4 Pc. Garlic cloves
  • 5 Pc. Chilli pepper fresh
  • 2 Pc. Tomatoes
  • 50 g Dried shrimp
  • 3 tbsp Fish sauce
  • 3 tbsp Sugar
  • 4 tbsp Lime juice
  1. Peel the papaya, hollow it out and slice it into fine strips. Peel the garlic, remove the stems from the chilli, cut the tomatoes into eighths. Crush the garlic and chilli in a mortar, add the shrimp and peanuts and crush them too. Gradually put the papaya in the mortar and carefully crush it, turning it over and over again. Add tomatoes, fish sauce, sugar, lime juice and mix well. Serving.
