Sour cream and orange hearts

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 200 g butter
  • 300 g flour
  • 100 g sour cream
  • 50 g sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 2 tsp orange zest, fresh
  • Flour for the work surface
  • 150 g powdered sugar
  • 3 tbsp orange juice, freshly squeezed

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

easy and quick to make, for about 2 trays full

Knead the dough ingredients into a smooth dough. Roll out on a floured surface. Cut out hearts about 3-4 mm thick using a suitable cutter and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Knead the remaining dough together, roll it out, and continue cutting out. Repeat until all the dough is gone. Preheat oven to 180°C (top/bottom heat). Bake the hearts on a medium heat for about 15 minutes, until the surface begins to brown slightly (keep an eye on them). Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack. Mix the powdered sugar with the orange juice and spread a thick layer of it over the cooled hearts. I made about 50 hearts. Tip: You can easily replace the orange zest and orange juice with lemon.
