Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg potatoes
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 7 peppercorns
  • 5 cloves
  • Salt
  • 1 tbsp fat
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • Vinegar
  • Meat broth

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

An ancient recipe – but I love it!

Wash, peel, and slice the potatoes. Dice the onion. Place in a pot, add about 1 liter of water, add the spices, and cook until soft. Make a very dark roux from the fat and flour and deglaze with the cooking water. Drain a little of the potatoes, if necessary, add the roux, and stir. Press everything through a sieve with a potato masher. Season generously with vinegar, granulated meat broth, and a little more salt, if desired. Serve with the beef for soup.
