Southern Fried Chicken

The perfect southern fried chicken recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 2,5 kg Chicken wings fresh
  • 2 L Fat for deep-frying

Seasoning mix

  • 3 tsp Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 3 tsp Garlic powder
  • 3 tsp Rose paprika powder hot

marinade

  • 6 Eggs
  • 150 ml Water
  • 10 tbsp Salsa sauce

Breading

  • 500 g Flour
  • 2 Sachets Baking powder
  • 1 tsp Salt

marinade

  1. Beat the eggs and mix together with the water in a bowl and add the salsa sauce. The amount can be varied depending on the desired spiciness – 10 tbsp are light to medium hot.

Seasoning mix

  1. Mix all ingredients together in a cup.

Breading

  1. Mix the ingredients for the breading in a bowl as well.

preparation

  1. Wash the chicken wings, pat dry, sprinkle with the seasoning mixture (about 1 teaspoon each) and massage in.
  2. Pour into the marinade, drain briefly and bread.
  3. Heat the oil in a large saucepan or, of course, in the deep fryer. The oil is at the perfect temperature when ripples are forming at the bottom of the pot and there is no smoke.
  4. Fry the chicken wings until golden brown and drain well. To keep them warm, place in a casserole dish lined with kitchen paper and in the oven preheated to 100 ° C.
