Spaghetti à la Giulian

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500g spaghetti
  • salt water
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 125 g diced ham
  • 2 shallots
  • 2 tsp pesto
  • 200 ml cream
  • e.g. Parmesan
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti al dente. Meanwhile, heat the oil in a pan and fry the ham cubes. Peel and dice the shallots and add them to the ham cubes. Once the shallots are translucent, add the pesto and cream. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Mix the cooked spaghetti with the sauce in the pan and let it simmer for a while before serving. You can choose your own pesto; almost anything goes well with it. My personal favorite is walnut and mascarpone pesto. The Parmesan cheese can be added individually to the plate. You can also add a generous portion to the sauce before mixing it with the spaghetti. If you like a lot of cheese, you can do both.
