Quick onion schnitzels

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 pork schnitzels or neck ridge slices
  • 2 onions
  • e.g. mayonnaise
  • 1 pack of cheese, grated
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch(s) of pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Prepare a casserole dish or baking sheet. If using a baking sheet, be sure to use parchment paper. Season the meat with salt and pepper and place it close together on the tray or in the dish. Cut the onions into rings of any thickness. Cover the meat completely with them, so that hardly any meat is visible. Now spread a thick layer of mayonnaise over the onions. This layer should be at least 1 cm thick. Sprinkle the grated cheese over the mayonnaise. Bake in the oven at approx. 200°C (top/bottom heat) for approx. 30-40 minutes. French fries go well as a side dish, but you can serve it with whatever you like.
