Spaghetti – pumpkin from the microwave

Spread the love

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 1 pumpkin(s) (spaghetti squash)
  • some butter
  • some salt
  • some pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 5 minutes

Halve a spaghetti squash and remove the seeds. Place the spaghetti squash half cut-side down on a microwave-safe plate. Add a few drops of water to the plate. Microwave for about 5 minutes per pound of squash at about 800 watts. Let cool for about 5 minutes. Scoop out the squash flesh with a fork (the squash is cooked when this comes out easily; if the flesh is still too firm, return it to the microwave and cook for a bit longer). The spaghetti strands will form naturally. Season the squash spaghetti with a few knobs of butter, salt, and pepper, and serve. We like spaghetti squash best as a side dish with grilled meat. But the sky’s the limit. You can also enjoy the squash spaghetti like pasta with various sauces, for example.
