Spaghetti with Spicy Tomato and Date Sauce
The perfect spaghetti with spicy tomato and date sauce recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 800 g Tomatoes very aromatic
- 6 Dried tomatoes in oil
- 3 Garlic cloves
- 3 Shallots
- 0,5 Habanero
- 0,5 Paprika
- 200 Milliliters Vegetable broth
- 150 Milliliters Red wine
- 3 tablespoon Cassis balsamic vinegar
- 5 Dates
- 1 Clementine
- Salt and pepper
- 3 tablespoon Sour cream
- Extra virgin olive oil
- 2 teaspoon Herbs of Provence
- Basil leaves
- Fresh oregano
- 500 g Spaghetti
- Puree the vegetables with the habanero and the garlic cloves. Squeeze the clementines. Briefly bring to the boil with the vegetable stock, red wine, balsamic vinegar and herbs from Provence. Simmer for 1 hour with the lid half closed.
- Core the dates and cut into small pieces. Add to the tomato sauce but do not boil anymore. Leave in the sauce for about 10 minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- In the meantime, cook the spaghetti according to the instructions on the packet.
- Serve the spaghetti with the tomato sauce and serve with a few basil leaves, a little oregano, a tablespoon of sour cream and a little olive oil.
