Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 350g spaghetti
  • 400 g tomatoes, fully ripe
  • 100 g tuna in oil, from the can
  • 1 clove(s) garlic
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • olive oil
  • salt and pepper
  • Pecorino, freshly grated

Spaghetti al Tonno – a recipe from Apulia

Brown the crushed garlic in the oil and add the peeled, seeded, and chopped tomatoes. Lightly season with salt and pepper and cook over high heat for 20 minutes. Then add the shredded tuna and oregano, mix, and let stand for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, cook the pasta “al dente,” drain, and immediately toss with the hot sauce. Serve with the pecorino, if desired.
