Spelled Tartlets for Fruit Cakes
The perfect spelled tartlets for fruit cakes recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
Firm mini cake batter:
- 150 g Spelled flour
- 2 tbsp Tartar baking powder
- 150 g Butter
- 150 g Sugar / sugar substitute powder
- 8 g Vanilla sugar
- 2 piece Eggs
- 250 ml Milk 1.5%
Firm cake base (batter):
- The butter is heated and whipped until frothy, while the sugar or sugar substitute powder and the egg and vanilla sugar are folded in. The flour is mixed in with the baking powder and a little milk. If the dough starts to clump a little, it can be poured into the tartlet molds that have been brushed with oil.
Baking time:
- Total duration 45 minutes, i.e. 35 minutes at 180 ° C and 10 minutes of gentle post-baking with the oven switched off and still heated.
Usage tips:
- As a fruit cake classic: The finished cake base can be topped with fruits (e.g. strawberries, cherries, apricots, kiwis, gooseberries, etc.) and is first coated with pudding, the fruit topping is added and covered with cake icing. It is always eaten with a little whipped cream.
- As a citrus tart: The finished cake base can be coated with lemon curd or orange curd and topped with lemon, orange slices and other fruits, depending on your imagination, and decorated with egg whites or ready-made meringues.
