Spelt and quark hamburger buns

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 375 g spelt flour, light
  • 1 packet of dry yeast
  • ½ pack of baking powder
  • 200 ml almond milk (almond drink)
  • 1 tsp margarine
  • 120 g low-fat curd cheese
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 pinch(s) of cane sugar or coconut blossom sugar
  • Sesame seeds for sprinkling

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

Gently warm the almond milk with the margarine. Stir the sugar and dried yeast into the lukewarm milk until dissolved. Add the low-fat quark and salt and knead with the flour and baking powder until a smooth dough forms. Knead for about 10 minutes. Cover the dough with a damp kitchen towel and let it rest for 30 minutes at room temperature. Shape the dough into 8 equal balls, place them on a baking sheet, and flatten slightly. Brush the buns with a little of the margarine-milk mixture and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake the hamburger buns at 180°C (fan oven) for about 10-15 minutes. Let the buns cool and cut them open before using.
