Spelt nut rolls with colorful cottage cheese

Ingredients for 9 servings:

  • 250 g quark
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 5 tbsp oil
  • 100 ml buttermilk
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 350 g spelt flour (wholemeal flour)
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 100 g almond(s), chopped
  • 50 g hazelnuts, chopped (alternatively walnuts or pistachios)
  • 250 g cottage cheese
  • 1 red bell pepper(s)
  • 1 bunch of chives
  • 2 tbsp cress
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Knead the dough ingredients into a dough. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F), fan oven to 160°C (320°F). Shape the dough into rolls and bake for 25 to 30 minutes. In the meantime, finely chop the bell pepper, chives, and cress and mix with the cottage cheese. Season with salt and pepper. Cut the cooled rolls open and spread with the cottage cheese.
