Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 3 eggs
  • 200 g sugar
  • 125 g butter
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 250 g flour
  • 3 pinches of clove powder
  • 2 tbsp, sautéed cinnamon
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg
  • 100 ml carbonated mineral water
  • Fat for the mold
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 100 g powdered sugar
  • Water, 2 – 3 tbsp

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 2 hours 15 minutes

Mix the softened butter with the sugar. Gradually add the eggs until a smooth batter forms. Add the spices, vanilla sugar, baking powder, and sifted flour and mix until a smooth batter forms. Now fold in the mineral water – it’s best not to use a mixer to ensure the batter is as fluffy as possible. Bake the batter in a greased pan for about 60 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit). Let cool, turn out, and decorate. I like to make a glaze with cinnamon, powdered sugar, and water.
