Ingredients for 5 servings:

  • 1 ¼ liters of milk
  • 1 vanilla pod(s), scraped out seeds
  • 1 pepper, red
  • 1 tbsp chili flakes
  • 3 cloves
  • 1 stalk(s) cinnamon
  • 350 g dark chocolate (Milka), chopped
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 200 ml cream
  • 1 tbsp sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Heat the milk over moderate heat. Split the vanilla pod, scrape out the seeds, and add both to the milk along with the sliced ​​hot pepper, chili flakes, cloves, and cinnamon stick. Simmer gently for 15 minutes. Strain and continue to keep warm over low heat. Whip the cream with sugar until stiff peaks form. Finely chop the chocolate, add it to the milk, and melt it, stirring constantly. Add a pinch of salt. Divide the hot chocolate among 5 cups and serve with a dollop of whipped cream.
