Spicy Cabbage Sticks

The perfect spicy cabbage sticks recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 0,2 Pc. Fresh white cabbage
  • 1 Handful Fleckerlnudeln (Austrian type of noodle)
  • 1 Pc. Onion red
  • 4 Pc. Garlic cloves chopped
  • 1 tsp Sugar brown
  • 1 tsp Whole caraway seeds
  • Olive oil
  • Butter
  • Salt
  • Colorful pepper
  • Sweet paprika powder
  • Vegetable soup powder
  1. Heat the olive oil, add a little butter (the oil / butter ratio is a matter of taste) and sprinkle with sugar. After 1 minute, add the finely chopped onion and garlic and cook for a few minutes. Mix in the cabbage (white cabbage) cut into strips, sprinkle with approx. 1 teaspoon of soup powder and caraway seeds and pour in approx. 1/4 glass of water. Mix well and cook for about half an hour with the lid closed and on a rather low heat.
  1. In the meantime, cook pasta pasta (of course other types of pasta are also possible) in vegetable stock until firm to the bite, then strain and set aside. After steaming for 20 minutes, season the cabbage with pepper, salt and paprika. Then try again and again to see if it’s done. One likes it firmer, the other softer. When the cabbage is ready, mix in the pasta and let it steep again.
