Spicy Gyros Stew

  1. Peel the onions, wash the tomatoes and dice both. Rub the mushrooms dry and cut into slices. Wash, core and dice the peppers. If necessary, cut the strips into smaller pieces. Chop the olives.
  2. Heat the oil in a saucepan on medium to high heat and fry the onion cubes with the meat for about 5 minutes. Season with salt, pepper and paprika and refine with 1 teaspoon of oregano and thyme.
  3. Add tomato paste, mushroom slices and diced paprika, fry briefly and deglaze with broth. Add the tomato cubes and simmer with the lid on for about 15 minutes. Refine the gyro stew with cream cheese and serve sprinkled with the remaining oregano.
