Spicy rice with cheese

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 350 g cheese (Gouda), diced
  • 1 red bell pepper(s), cleaned, finely diced
  • 1 large onion(s), peeled, finely chopped
  • 125 ml oil (sunflower oil)
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 400 g rice (long grain rice)
  • 3 chili peppers, green
  • Salt
  • pepper, black
  • 1 liter of water

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

cheap, tasty and filling

Bring the chopped onions, diced bell pepper, sunflower oil, butter, rice, and whole chili peppers to a boil in a pan with 1 liter of water. Cover and simmer over low heat for about 40 minutes. Remove the chili peppers after cooking, slice them lengthwise, deseed them, and finely dice them. Mix them with the diced Gouda cheese into the rice, heat briefly again, and season with salt and pepper. Serve with a green leaf salad and yogurt dressing.
