Spicy tomato drink

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 500 ml tomato juice, direct juice
  • 1 half lime(s), juice
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 dashes Tabasco
  • 1 dashes soy sauce
  • some maple syrup
  • e.g. olive oil
  • 2 handfuls of crushed ice
  • Pepper, freshly ground
  • possibly chili pepper(s), fresh and lime wedges, sea salt flakes, celery

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 5 minutes

ideal for summer, refreshing and rich in minerals

Mix together tomato juice, cayenne pepper, lime juice, Tabasco, and soy sauce, and season with a little maple syrup. Divide crushed ice between 2 large (300 ml) or 4 small (150 ml) glasses. Pour in the tomato drink. Season to taste, if desired, drizzle with a little top-quality olive oil, and grind the pepper generously. Serve garnished with lime wedges, chili pepper, and celery sticks, if desired. This drink is perfect as an aperitif on hot summer days, served in small bowls alongside snacks. It can also be enjoyed as an appetizer or as an energy booster after exercise. I always use organic tomato juice, as it simply tastes the most aromatic. Mine already contains a little sea salt, so a splash of soy sauce is all you need. Otherwise, simply sprinkle on a pinch of sea salt flakes. Approx. 55 kcal per serving.
