Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • ½ onion(s)
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 140 g tomato paste, 2-fold concentrated
  • 200 g tomatoes, pureed
  • 200 ml water
  • 1 ½ tsp, heaped soup powder (clear soup, e.g. from Maggi), more if needed
  • 1 tsp, heaped sugar
  • 1 tbsp parsley, dried
  • 1 tbsp chives, dried

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Mix the water with the stock powder. Finely chop the onion, mince the garlic, and briefly fry both in a pan. Add the tomato paste and passata and fry briefly. Top up with the stock and simmer for a few minutes. Add herbs and sugar, and if it’s not spicy enough, season with stock powder. I serve the sauce with penne and a dollop of mayonnaise.
